GI Store Design Concept – Bespoke Minimalism

Display Shelves

The display shelves are made of reclaimed wooden planks and cotton ropes that are fixed directly from ceiling giving without touching the floor giving it a traditional swing like design. The display shelves itself are the partitions in the store which can be rearranged via the additional hooks provided all along the ceiling of the store.

Color Theme & lighting features

The store is given a dark color pallet to ensure the product is highlighted more than the store itself. The vibrant color jute ropes circumference around the pillars to give a handcrafted touch to the concrete structure. The red ropes on the ceiling break the monotony of the plain boring ceiling while Indian patterns and mandalas further enhances the ‘hand-crafted’ ambience of the store. The lights used are warm yellow that creates a vibe of luxury and richness of the handcrafted products. The bright yellow streak on the store front acts as a beacon for visitors during the evenings and helps the store to be located visually.

Art Station

The Art station is a dedicated space within the store that features Mysore paintings, Rosewood inlay works and Ganjifa Art with a seating of 4 people to experience first hand gameplay of Ganjifa cards. The station also features a dedicated Ganjifa gameplay book and various sets of Ganjifa cards for sale.

The Salesmen Counters

The salesmen counter includes the Navalgund durries, Mysore silks, embroideries etc., which will be displayed on mattress counter used in traditional style in olden days to give the customer a more intriguing and detailed view of the products.

Agro – MFD Section

The agricultural produce and manufactured products are kept near the exit counters so that they can be bought and taken away after visiting the entire store. This will also be helpful for refilling on daily basis with ease without interfering other areas of the store.
