A program aimed at creating a learning atmosphere that emphasizes freedom of learning through multiple mediums, restricting chalk-board teaching methods for a couple of hours in a week in the current time table. Kalaa-Class is a medium through which students can harness knowledge through various platforms, ranging from local learning to e-learning. These few hours in a week are aimed at empowering students to discover various sources of learning. The proposed program evolved from responses of activities that were proven to be viable in the school setting. Kalaa-class is a program that instrumentalizes creativity, appreciation, encouragement, exploration, freedom, skills, at odds with laid-back teaching methods. The program aims to build a narrative in the current trend of rural education that includes both teachers and students. Expression of individual thoughts and ideas would possibly be nurtured through these classes allowing students to engage without precincts.
